Sleepy Sojourn - 1:17

A conceptual piano piece that served as the main theme for a longer animation that was unfinished

This was a piece I composed for an animation that was unfortunately never finished and released, but I include it here as a proof of concept and to show how I work to briefs and projects in their earlier stages. My main source of inspiration for this piece was the atonal solo piano works of Aram Khachaturian, and other soviet era composers. I wanted to capture the moody, emotive tone that makes these pieces so great, and I am very happy with the result. I feel that the piece fits very well with the intimate personal story of the animation and provides a perfect musical representation of self-reflection.
