Short orchestral piece for masters project focused on scoring animation

I scored this piece using entirely midi orchestral samples and instruments, with a focus on tuned percussion and strings. I split the piece into two parts which I felt reflected the visuals – the first being an upbeat and whimsical journey sequence and the second being a bit more mysterious, but not intense. I found it hard to maintain variation through musical density in this piece – in the end the only full orchestral portion is a brief passage at about 0:38 which originally was present throughout the piece. I think that limiting the density of instrumentation in this way helped the piece feel more intimate which matches the focus on a single character in the animation.
